Multiple datapacks (MC)

Turtle shell shields, a full-meal system that rewards a varied diet and a new sneaky and appetizing mob. Here is what will enrich your survival adventures on minecraft.

This time, I present you 3 datapacks at once!

The Turtle Shield

This little datapack introduced me to the creation of custom craft. The main challenge is that it seems that in version 1.16, it is not possible to assign special characteristics to items from custom craft. Turtle-shields are an upgrade of normal shields, so I had to be creative to solve this problem. Finally , a function will immediately give a Turtle-Shield to a player who craft a scute with this patern :

The Turtle Shield works just like the normal shield, except that it provides a 4 HP heal after 4 successful uses. (they are memorized )

You can enchant your shield with the Unbreaking effect to enjoy it longer.
With this data-pack, killing a turtle can sometimes give in a scute.

Datapack Repas (Meals)

Do you feel that eating beef as your only source of food for most of your adventure is viable? And trying to collecting the different foods in the game is absolutely not rewarded? This datapack adds subtlety to the food and rewards a varied diet.

The complete meal: I have divided almost all the food into 3 categories:

1) Meats and fishs (they must be cooked)
2) Fruits and vegetables
3) Starchy foods : Bread, Potato, cookies and cake

A player who eats at least one type of each food during his adventure is rewarded with a passive effect that slightly raises his hunger bar for 16 minutes! ( A total of 11 food points are given to him over the duration )
A green particle effect appears on the cursor when the player gets this buff.

After that, the player can get this bonus again if he continues to eat varied food.
The buff is'nt cumulative, its duration is simply reset.

The buff is not overpowering, but its duration of 16 minutes is interesting. So it is not necessary to eat a variety of foods, but it becomes much more valuable this way.

     Special effects :
Some foods gain some peculiarities, like honey which removes the poisonous effect:

- Carrot removes a blinding effect
- The golden carrot provides immunity to blindness for one minute
- Dried kelp removes a slowing effect (and is eaten very quickly)
- Cooked salmon : immune to slowness for one minute.
- Porkchop immunizes against the effect of hunger
- Cookies give a small bonus of 20% speed for 6 seconds
- Mushroom soup confers immunity to fire for 6 seconds
- The beetroot gives a regeneration of 1 hp  (1 half-heart)
- beetroot soup gives a regeneration of 1 hp and removes the wither effect.
- Rabbit stew consists of a meat, a vegetable and a starchy substance, it counts alone as a complete meal

( Pumpkin pie is made from a food source that is easily obtained from 100% automated farms, so it does not count to have complete meal. )

This datapack makes it globally easier for players to survive, to compensate a bit, having your hunger bar completely emptied applies a 15% speed malus on top of the usual HP loss.

Moreover, if you open the file repas.mcfunction in 'Repas_data_pack\data\bouffe\functions', you can activate this line by removing the '#':
# effect give @a [scores={V_Hunger=20}] minecraft:hunger 1 30 true

This applies a powerful nerf of saturation: when a player sees his food bar full, he heals himself, but the bar turns green ( the player has 'eaten too much' ) and falls back to 9.5/10 very quickly. This option is intended for players who want to make the suvival harder without completely removing the possibility to heal themselves with food. I also advise you to add the following datapack which adds a mob siphoning the food bar of the players close to it and tending to spawn near farm animals.

Metamorph :

Resulting from the mutation caused by a parasite, this shape-shifter is a hostile beast deceiving the vigilance of his preys by taking the appearance of passive creatures! This mob spawns towards the end of the night and runs at the players with the appearance of a cow, sheep or pig. The Metamporph tend to appear close to real passive creatures of the same appearance. Beware of them when you're running your farms. During the day, they will persist but lose their aggressiveness as long as a player doesn't get really close.

A Metamorph takes a bestial appearance and fights if a player is close. He while siphoning off the food bar. The Metamorph is very enduring: he has the equivalent of 25 hearts! But he is slow and does little damage, if you move a little too far away, he will take back a random passive appearance and he will heal himself at the same time. With his passive form, it is as fragile as any passive creature. He loots many items obtainable from pigs, sheep and cows. And sometimes the shears it uses as a weapon.

The presence of these creatures can make players paranoid at the slightest sheep they encounter, so don't hesitate to spice up your adventure with these new mobs!

These new features are free to use, but it's a lot of work so don't hesitate to share the link of this blog to support me.
